But you are talking (or what ever) to dead people, people who are in heaven or hell … There is a difference. Where is it said we have such a connection to them?
maybe where it says about praying to “Muhammad” every day?

Romans 15:30 I urge you brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love that the spirit gives; join me in praying fervently to God for me.

How many more quotes am I going to have to pull out of the bible before you take notice we CAN pray WITH others to God???

Colossians 4:3 At the same time pray also for us, so that God will give us a good opportunity to preach his message about the secret of Christ.

Can anyone answer this?
hola Jedda

Catholics believe in two kinds of revelation… Holy Scripture and Sacred Tradition…

Sacred Tradition should be enough to sufficiently answer this question… but that is not a matter, there are examples of intercession through the dead in scripture too.

scripture tells us that the prayers from the righteous are most powerful (James 5:16), this is important because it answers “why” a person may wish to have intercession.

dead righteous people have blessed the Israelite army (2 Maccabees) and a man (who was dead) interceded through Abraham (who was dead) to ask that he be relieved (Luke 16:19-31)… it was not granted.

death is not the end… it is just a transition, it is a fundamental belief in Christianity that the dead are not snuffed out of existance.

Your flip ways are no longer funny, but childish.
well you asked a flippant even disrespectful question earlier on!
I just doubt that you really want an answer somehow, that’s all…
the fact you can’t see that Muslims praying for/to the man who called himself “Muhammad” is very similar, yet one seems justified to you but not the other?
:ehh:

James 5:14 Is anyone among you sick? He should summon the presbyters of the church, and they should pray over him and anoint (him) with oil in the name of the Lord

Asking for a blessing for Muhammad if different that praying to him for help. I am looking for why people pray to dead people (not for dead people) I am not looking for justification but a answer.
Why? And where does it stated it in the bible.
Simple.

you don’t seem to grasp the point at all
you keep on saying that Catholics pray to dead people
therefore you are asking a complex question that cannot be answered
if you were prepared to listen properly to the rationale then some progress might be made
I can accept that Muslims are not praying to Muhammad by the same process that enables me to accept that Catholics aren’t praying to dead people
why can’t you?

this is not relevant nor the answer.
How isnt it?
it says…
and **they should pray over him **and anoint (him) with oil in the name of the Lord

They are PRAYING for him in the name of the Lord…
Ask your ants if you dont believe me!

Oh im going to also add
Revelations 8:3 3Another angel, who had a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense to offer, with the prayers of all the saints, on the golden altar before the throne. 4The smoke of the incense, together with the prayers of the saints, went up before God from the angel’s hand.

Hmmm Jedda has gone offline…

Lord Jesus, May you show these people it is ok to pray through you to the Lord God. Amen

I assume this is just a word game and cannot be answered! Thank you.

They are praying over him, they were not asking something from him.
I am not sure Revelations is a good source. i am more or less looking for something Jesus said.

When catholics pray to others…ir Mary, saints, relatives. how do they know they can hear their prayers? Is this in the bible? If so please reference it.

Why is this a monotheistic religion?
You specifically said BIBLE, not Jesus

The presbyters are praying over him in the name of the Lord, in other words, intercession for him.

Praying for him is not the same as to him for help.
Wrong again, this is intercession for praying for the sick.

Your missing my point, we do NOT pray to saints etc, we ask them to intercede for us!
