Praying to St. Joseph for the sale of a house

My son has just accepted a job in another city, so he and my daughter-in-law need to sell their house quickly so that they can buy another one in the new town. Can any one recommend a prayer to St. Joseph for the quick sale of a house? All of the prayers that I have seen mention putting St. Joseph in an uncomfortable position, that is on his head. I think that burying a statue smacks of superstition, and the place they are trying to sell is an urban condo, and they have no yard to burying anything in anyway! Am I being too scrupulous about this? I want them to know that St. Joseph’s intercession with God, not the act of burying a plastic statue in a certain way, has helped them to sell the house. Thanks in advance for the good advice that I know I will receive.

Whether or not they display or bury (never upside down! Only concealed in the ground of the property to prevent its theft or removal) the statue of St. Joseph, here is the prayer they should use:
Dear St. Joseph,
Head of the Most Perfect Household,
Foster-Father of Jesus and Guardian of His Mother Mary,
I confidently place myself and all my concerns under your care and protection.
I ask that, through your powerful intercession with God, you obtain for me all the help and graces that I need for my spiritual and temporal welfare and in particular, for the special favor I now ask (here mention your home sale or other petition, especially family needs).
Good St. Joseph, I know with confidence, that your prayers on my behalf will be heard by God and if it is His Will, it will be done.
Thank you St. Joseph, for having responded to my call.

This is the prayer that brings a flood of grace into the family and the home, and has been used by generations of Catholics for their needs concerning the family home.

After the sale of the home, if they used a statue on the property, it should be retrieved and moved to a position of honor in the new home. The prayer to St. Joseph written here should then be promoted by the family to all who have need of St. Joseph’s intercession. And hopefully, lifelong devotion to St. Joseph would naturally follow.

We prayed several novenas (old pamphlets & a couple found on-line) to St. Joseph & never resorted to burying a statue - either upright or upside down. That smacks of superstition to me, too.

Between novenas we simply asked St. Joseph to pray for us. So far, 2 out of 3 housing needs have been taken care of with very good outcomes. The last is a real challenge - it will be interesting to see how it is resolved!

Many Catholics & non-Catholics are burying statues of St. Joseph, mainly upside down ( to face away from the house to be sold) and they are getting results…my wife sells these statues in her gift shop…but I feel it’s superstitious!

Results likely depend on the housing market in the area. My dad’s house just sold for about $20k OVER the asking price. Which we do consider a miracle as the market isn’t that good. We would have considered it miraculous to get the asking price.

But it did take 5 years of praying to get my sister to move out of the house. Once that miracle happened, it sold quickly.

Burying a statue of St. Joseph is tantamount to witchcraft. It is an evil practice which should be strongly discouraged.

If you wish help from above then pray, DO NOT perform sacrilegious acts with statues or images of saints.

Exactly, the only “magic” to selling a house quickly is staging it well and pricing it aggressively. If it doesn’t sell quickly, the listing price is too high or it doesn’t show well.
