Praying with Icons

****Hi dear friends.

I like to pray with Icons, and last month I had an wonderful experience with the Icon “Mother of God of the portal”. Our lady is with the child on her left hand and showing him to us with her right arm. But what is most wonderful is that from her right hand an oil is falling…It seams to me that this balsam is the God’s love that she is looking for some one that want to receive it. I remember Saint Francis when he said that the Love isn’t loved…

Hope you understand my experience. Is very painful see our lady bagging for our acceptation of her son’s love…
 
I do understand your experience. Icons have helped me focus during prayer, and have opened my heart and mind to a level of contemplation I hadn’t been able to achieve on my own. They are so important in the life of the church, even in the West. We ought to include ourselves more in this ancient tradition.

May the Lord inspire you with His Holy Spirit, and send you out to others to spread the Good News of His Love!
