ok…I had a few too much. Can I still pray under the influence?

I am by myself, at home, not driving, just had a few.

I know this topic sounds weird, but I am curious. Is it alright?

I wouldn’t hesitate to pray in any condition. Remember Jesus turned water to wine. I don’t think He expected people not to talk to Him after they had drank it. So …yes…it is still ok to pray.

Is this the first time you have drunk to excess? Or is this part of a pattern? You can certainly pray. I’m in AA, and I can assure you that millions of us drunk alcoholics have prayed.

But this might be a time to talk over your drinking pattern with someone you trust. This is ONLY a suggestion.:hug1:

I dont get drunk every night. Just sometimes I have a few too many. I just feel my prayers would go unanswered because I had a few too much.

Tequila sneaks up on ya…LOL

Have you ever said “I’ll drink just two drinks and stop” and then go on anyhow to more drinks? Done this more then once? If so, you may really need to talk to your Physician, Priest, or (if you have one at work), your EAP 😦

At the moment of a temptation one should try to pray, pray and pray.
When you have a bit too much of drink, ask God to help you stop drinking more. 😉
