I was wondering, what happens in the pre-Cana classes?

Would you like to know what is supposed to happen or what actually happens?

Should happen:

Couples are educated as to how to live a grace filled and Godly marriage and a deep explination of the dacrament they are undertaking. They would cover such topics as chastity before marriage, nfp, growing together in their faith, and the responsibility they have to their children in educating them in the faith.

Does happen (usually)

Couples moan and groan about having to be at this “stupid class” and give a blank stare at the attempt of the presenters to water down as much as they can so they don’t offend anyone.

I’m not saying all pre-cana classes are like this. The one my wife and I attended was as well as what I have been told by other friends and family who went thorugh the program.
You need to choose you class carefully and be proactive on educating yourselves on Catholic marriage. Don’t expect the classes to give you the whole story.
