Are there any Protestant religions where pre-marital sex is OK?

The closest example i could think of is the Church of the Family or Children of God. The complete opposite of that, which i think is interesting, is the quakers.

Actually, MIL recently dismissed our teenage nephews possibility of having porn magazines as something they’ll grow out of eventually. It shocked my wife and I. Yet it really didn’t surprise me all that much in that I always suspected something fishy about certain things…

Under what possible circumstances would a couple be forced to cohabitate in a de facto marriage without being married?

“The same standards” would be to publicly declare and vow lifelong fidelity, openness to children etc. i.e. to get married.

Older couples who would lose social security benefits or pension benefits if they were to marry come to mind.

In my mother’s part of Louisiana, probably. Family history tells of a great great grandmother lynched as her parents took in the “colored” child after her murder. In New Orleans where my father was from things were much safer.

But couldn’t a couple marry in the Church without having it recognized by the State? Especially for couples who might lose out on social security or pension? We had a Lutheran pastor who did just that in Massachusetts.
