Pre-marital sex

Most 18 year old men do not have a mature understanding of sex.

And whose fault is that? Their first sin was ignorance, the pre-marital sex is a fruit of their ignorance. They will be judged according to their deeds.

The age of reason does not imply intelligence or maturity. How many 7 year olds actually understand what the Church teaches?

How is this relevant to the topic? We are talking a full-grown man, making his own decisions.

How should I?

Incidentally, I am not an official C myself. I have been Episcopalian, followed by staunch atheism (14-17), and now find myself coming to the Truth (with a capital ‘T’). Do I have really any right to preach?

1 Corinthians 6:9 Do you not know that the unjust will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators nor idolaters nor adulterers…

1 Corinthians 6:18: Avoid immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the immoral person sins against his own body.

St Paul also tells us that the sins of the flesh is death.

How should I?

You have alkready done the bulk of evangelizing this wayward Catholic by simply presenting the official Church teaching regarding the formation of conscience. Pray for his enlightenment and conviction by the Holy Spirit. Conversion is ultimately the work of the Holy Spirit.

You have every right to present the truth of the gospel to this inquiring Catholic individual with whom you have a personal relationship with. The faith speaks for itself. In one sense we are all unworthy to be preachers and evangelizers for the kingdom.
