My daughter is 3 and a half right now, she is supposed to start pre school in the fall. We are going to be homeschooling so it would just be for fun. My question is about the teacher. There is a waiting list for over a year because she is really good, but I was friends on Facebook with her and she is a supporter of gay marriage. Also she’s not Catholic. This is mostly to just get her playing with other children. I just wondered what everyone’s thoughts were on this? Thank you.
Go ahead and send her. Pre school will help her socialize, to share, to take turns, follow the rules and sit still and listen when someone else is talking. Ask to sit in a few classes if you are still uneasy about what happens in the day.

I just can’t imagine a pre-school teacher doing that much to influence a bunch of 3-4 year olds when it comes to her liberal views.

Not to mention that while she may have her opinions…she works for a private Catholic school and needs to follow their instruction and expectations about conduct in the classroom.

My oldest is starting preschool this fall and we’re all very excited.

I think my daughter will just thrive in school…it’s something different and new and it fosters a learning environment that my kids soak up.

You’d be surprised.

brendenseth did not say that in the original nor has brendenseth made subsequent posts at this point.

That’s pretty normal for a kid who hasn’t had to be apart from parents before. Honestly, that would be even more of a sign for me that my kid needed to spend a little time away from me. We can’t always be there every second as they grow up.
