Pre Vatican II Enchiridion of indulgencies?

Hello everyone!

Yesterday I was speaking with my little sister about indulgences [she’s a stauch atheist and knows nothing of it] when she pulled a question about the Lists of Indulgencies. Problem is, I can’t find any Enchiridion of indulgencies prior to the change in modality of the indulgencies [partial indulgence vs 300 days of indulgence for instance]. And yes, this is merely for curiosity.

Does anyone knows where I can find something like that?

Unless someone here has a list I would imagine you will find it hard to find a list for the Pre VatII indulgences. I did a quick scan with my google fu abilities and didn’t find anything but post council stuff. Any reason you would want pre council lists?
 
Because my dearly departed grandmother had a collection of those prayers and my sister was always curious about them. Grandma can’t give those to us anymore [And neither can grandfather, since my family cut all ties to him due to his really un-christian behaviour…at least, on my part.]

I thought that perhaps any tradicional catholic would have on in pdf…one never knows.

Well ill tell you what if you find one let me know id love to have a copy. I bet you could find some old church books somewhere that lists them in their entirety.

Well, I’ve found it. An english version of it as well. It was called “The Raccolta” and was published in 1910. Here it is for anyone who might want or need it 🙂

Actualy, scratch that. The forum limit is too small for the Raccolta :confused:

Any idea where I might upload it withought having to make an account?

The Raccolta really contains some beautiful prayers, by the look of it. Here is a link to an inexpensive physical edition: Amazon Link

As an aside, it’s crucial to make note of the following, as stated, for example, in the Amazon description of this book:
In 1968 [The Raccolta] was replaced by the Enchiridion Indulgentiarum, listing fewer specific prayers but including new general grants that apply to a wide range of prayerful actions.

Yes, I know. I have a digital copy too. Sadly, I can’t get any hard book copies due to…exterior issues. But thanks still 🙂
