Today being a solemnity…no fasting or abstinance! :dancing:
And at work a strange thing happened. One of my coworkers came up to me, pointed at the 5-1/2 inch San Damiano Crucifix around my neck, and asked if I was Catholic. We had a talk. She had not been to confession and/or communion for over 10 years, and very rarely to Church.
I did NOT inquire as to why, but shared that I was a new Catholic who went to confession often, and communion every Sunday. She said she would start thinking about going to confession, and the conversation ended.
Hopefully, she will. In any case, it shows the value of wearing a crucifix as a statement of faith. You are preaching the gospel, without the use of words, just as St. Francis wanted it. (Opinion)
