My last post was removed due to naming names of political candidates. I do apologize but what I saw on TV was appalling. A catholic priest, who was not preaching in a catholic church but stumping in the church of a politcal candidate decided to go on a rant about politics and race, and even mocked another politcal candidate from the pulpit. I was offended, as the pulpit is where Jesus is preached, and churches are not to be a front for political speaches. Shame on that priest for not lifting up Jesus but instead played to the local congregation and their politics.

Don’t be suprised if this one is removed also. I will repeat what I posted in the other one.
What a shame that this priest has caused scandal by his antics. He should be suspended. Why not preach a Catholic message.?
This happenned on **Corpus Christi Sunday **Can you imagine Christ preaching politics on such a day?
Why didn’t the priest teach to the congregaton the words of Christ, “Unless you eat my flesh and drink my blood you will not have life in you”?
Or teach them the proper interpretation of, “Thou art Peter and upon this rock I will build my church…”?
NOT THAT would have been shocking!

Just as background information, sans judgment, the priest in question is a bit of a loose cannon in the city in which he is located. I do not question his passion, love and dedication, but he’s been called on the hierarchical carpet a time or two. And he has apologized for his remarks.

I am always amazed at how these people, whether they be politicians or clergy who always “apologize” for their remarks.
They are sorry only because they were caught.

I agree! They apologize because they got caught. “As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.” The priest spoke what was really in his heart, and that is a shame he thinks that way. Did he not think what he said would be broadcast to the world because of where he was “preaching”? I use the term “preaching” lightly because he was not preaching, he was stumping…
