This is probably a strange question, but…

When recieving Communion from the Chalice, how much Precious Blood should one consume?
Any thoughts?*

I always receive just the slighest sip (maybe a quarter teaspoon?).

I just receive a tiny sip…usually because that’s all that is left because I’m one of the last to receive since I sit in the last pew in the rear of the church…🙂

i am still on my way into the church, but i have been told that when one drinks the cup they allow the blood to touch their lips and that is it. then, by licking the lips they will consume the blood. this allows for there to be enough for everyone (the downside to it is that some times it leaves a lot left which the priest/deacon or extraordinary ministers must finish).

we teach the kids in 1st comm class to just touch the Precious Blood with their lips, we want to avoid someone taking a big gulp and choking. We also urge the parents repeatedly to practice at home with real wine so the kids are not surprised by the taste.
