Sometimes the happiest occurrences are those that are spontaneous.

Two years ago I was at the local gas station.
Mrs. Silas and her six-year-old granddaughter Anne were there also.
Suddenly Anne tugged on her grandmother’s arm.
“Look!” exclaimed Anne as she pointed.
We looked.
Our new Catholic priest was putting gas in his automobile.
“Father drives a car!” expressed Anne.

Several years back I had just moved into a small city with no Catholic Church. I had been spoiled with a city prior to that had four Catholic Churches, a Catholic hospital and plenty of daily and weekend opportunities for Mass.

I was walking down the street a few weeks after the move and a man carrying books dropped some on the sidewalk. I looked down and they were Catholic books. I said Hi, I’m Mary and I’m so happy to see something Catholic here. He laughed and said he was
a “deacon in training” and gave me the Mass times to a close by town and introduced me to some people.

It was a great coincidence. Today he is a deacon serving 3 surrounding town Parishes.
All Glory to God

Mary.

In 1990 I went to Canada, and was supposed to be joining a mission group in Prince George, British Columbia. As it turned out I was so focused on this venture that I had failed to look into where the local Parish might be while I stayed with my maternal grandmother during that time. (In Abbotsford, British Columbia)

What do you know, the only Catholic Church in the area was a mere 6 blocks away. All the other parishes I would have had to attend Mass at were no less than 1.5 hours away. I had no car so it would not have been possible for me to go to Mass had this Parish been else where. I was also able to join the Choir while I was there.

I have a friend who had colon cancer. My wife and I helped her back to health. I was trying to get her deeper into her faith. I asked her did she ever have a "mountain top experience with God. She said no. then I told her that Jesus can give her one. Her son found a small heart shape box that contained the Nativity scene. She said is this the experience. I said no. It was near Valintines Day. I and my wife picked up some roses for her, and I decided that I would bring one rose to my friend. We drove near the house and saw her walking. She had been praying a novena to the Little Flower, St. Theresa ( the best I can remember) We picked her up to bring her back to her house when I handed her the rose. She became so surprise and joyful that she kissed me and my wife. We asked her why all the joy. She said that she just finished the Novena and if I brought her a rose, she would know that her prayers were answered. Gods’ ways are so beautiful. I said you received your mountain top experience from Jesus. Her son finding the rose shape box containing the Nativity Scene was the precursor, Jesus our Fathers’ gift to us. She is now more involved in the Church.
