How about marry your girlfriend without the option of divorce? If you’re both Catholic teachers, then you likely understand what a Catholic marriage entails. Couldn’t you both commit to that? A child is a blessing and you have an opportunity to build a wonderful family and a future together. It is up to you.

Even so, there is the possibility that the marriage will not be valid if they are only marrying because they’re pregnant. This is why I suggest waiting until after the baby is born and discerning the nature of their relationship. For the first few years, obviously they will be very taken up with the care of their new child. Consequently, it’s very easy for small problems (and even big problems) to be ignored during that time. If they wait a while, until they’re more mature, they will have the opportunity to pray about it and seek guidance. This is a FAR better option than marrying only because they’re going to have a baby.
