Silly, no, a bit unrealistic, maybe. I believe in the infallibility of the church and its teaching. Infallible in that it is not wrong; is it absolutely right in the end, hmmmmmm. That’s what revelation is about as mankind progresses. (or in some cases, regresses)
I still have a problem with “unrealistic”.

John 6 and those who say that these are hard sayings, is really coming to mind here.

What on earth would make you think that sodomy is ok? Go, then, and sodomize yourself, without degrading another person, if you think it is such a good idea.

I’m beginning to believe there needs to be a dedicated “Catholic Sexuality” sub-forum just so we have a place to quarantine all of the smut questions.
Plus the fact that this isn’t an adult oriented site. I’ve been on about this for a long time. I wouldn’t want my kids reading some of the posts.

Here’s my advice: if you think you shouldn’t be doing it, then you probably shouldn’t be posting about it. If you still need to know, maybe PM a mod to get advice on whether it should be posted. 🤷

I will be happy to recant the word unrealistic if you can name six 85 year old post menopausal women who have given birth in the last 500 years.

I don’t believe the church teaching is wrong or your view is either. It just seems to me that too many people just throw this statement about openness to life at any age out as a blanket statement with no though given to the effect on the listener. To say there is no debate or question allowed, IMO, does more harm than good.

Shalom
