For me the most shocking fact, other than the numbers, is that premarital sex has become so accepted in society as something normal. I have heard that 2 out of 3 TV shows contain sexual images. Most films are promoting immoral actions as something normal. Righteous people often feel peer pressure to do such sins that the society promotes. I argue that the society, not the Church, is obsessed with sex. The modern society is scandalising a lot of moral people. I think that premarital sex the root of many sins is, such as contraception and abortion. I my opinion the attitude of society towards premarital sex must change, society must condemn sins, not talk about them as something acceptable.

I feel like some people feel like they are “missing out” on something because of their beliefs and have do condemn others who don’t share it to make them feel better. Ultimately I believe it is insecurity, not only in themselves but God’s will.

There’s truth to this.

For those who feel insecure and reading this, even though the percentages for premarital sex are high, America is a big country. To put things into perspective, 1% of the American adult population (about 250 million) is about 2.5 million. So what’s 10%? 15%? Those would be mean more people than New York City and Los Angeles combined. You’re not alone in your choice to save sex for marriage or to remain a virgin.

Or they’re simply objecting to pre-marital sex as they would any other sin, the only difference being that modern society condones that sin more than others. Thus, their opposition to it indicates an integrity in uniformly objecting to all sin rather than an insecurity of only opposing those sins modern society deems trendy to oppose.
