Saint Joseph is an important saint and is probably a close patron for many people here on CAF. Since his feast is tomorrow, I thought it would be a good idea to share some ways to prepare for the occasion and maybe share some thoughts on him. I would have forgotten if I didn’t hear about it over the radio. One of the things they were talking about on the radio was how Pharoah had given over all his property under of the stewardship of the patriarch Joseph. This prefigures how God would later give to Saint Joseph not only Mary, the pinnacle of His creation but also Jesus, His most beloved Son. I thought that this was a good point, but I feel that I have conveyed it poorly. Nonetheless, I hope that we will be able to worthily celebrate the feast of the patron of the Universal Church, Saint Joseph.
BTW his feast is on March, 19.

I do have in my collection a great book -
The Life of Saint Joseph -
( as manifested to Maria Cecilia Baja O.S.B )
She was the Abbess of the Benedict Covenant…
From Italy…1750 or so…
I saw it in a church foyer about a decade ago…
Took it, read it, returned it, then bought it.

I have prayed a novena to St Joseph, the Litany of St. Joseph, for 9 days.

I am having Chinese food with my parents because my dad’s name is Joseph. I don’t know if my culture or any other Catholic culture has specific traditions for the feast itself. But a lot of Catholics celebrate name’s days and we’re celebrating my dad’s and we will call the other Josephs in our lives tomorrow to wish them well.

St. Joseph holds a very special place in my heart. My brother’s name was Joseph, my husband’s name was Joseph and my father’s. I lost my brother and my husband. On their birthdays I start a novena to St. Joseph and on the anniversary of their death. Their is a very beautiful prayer to St. Joseph in the little blue Pieta Prayer said to founded in the 50th year of our Lord.Jesus Christ. Does anyone know the prayer? If not I will post it. God bless::🦋🦋

Sicilian families build special tables dedicated to giving thanks to St Joseph. Legend has it that his intercession helped save Sicily from a terrible drought and famine, and the peasants built tables adorned with decorative cakes and breads because he saved the grain harvest. I’m mking my Joe some pastries in thanksgiving for St Joseph answering my prayer for a good husband.

I have been saying a special prayer to St. Joseph daily all month.

St. Andre Bessette and Elizabeth Kindlemann both emphasized his importance and I have prayed for his intercession in many things over the last 2 years concerning my husband and my late father-in-law. I also adopted St. Joseph as my foster father as my own father died a long time ago.

I will be burying my husband on St. Joseph’s Day this year. I don’t think I will ever be forgetting St. Joseph’s Day again, ever.

In my high school, if we had school on St. Joseph’s, there would be a free sweet ls table in the cafeteria. I think this is where they got that tradition from.

Tis Bearself, my sincere sympathies for your husband’s passing! I will say a prayer for him and for your family.

VI heard that Joseph was - a carpenter -
and the word denotes - one who builds houses -
Like one of the guys on the TV show “ This Old House “.

Tradition believes Joseph to have been born in Bethlehem 25 BC.
( Jesus was born 6 BC )
So Joseph was about 20 years old when Jesus was born.
He died before Jesus ministry began.

Thank you all, I wasn’t trying to fish for more prayers. It does seem like St. Joseph has a hand in this though. I also found a medal of him at random in a bunch of other stuff in my house a couple days ago.

No way! When life events coincide with saints days, I pay attention, from experience. It happens so often.

It’s a gift from God. Thank YOU for sharing your faith with us.

The Novena prayers. I was a widow. It takes as long as it takes God to bring someone wonderful into your life.
