Prepping to be a Sponsor for Confirmation

Hello!

I am sure this could fit into a number of forums, so I’m sorry if it’s a bit out of place.
To my delight, my younger brother just asked me to be his sponsor for Confirmation in June! My question is, is there any kind of prep we should go through together? He does go to CCD for the social aspect as we homeschooling through a Catholic program, and I know that will provide sturcture, but I was referring to outside of that. Thank you!! Perhaps you can speak with the CCD teacher and ask them if they have any suggestions or can recommend some reading materials.
 
Ask the Confirmation teacher. Sometimes, they will allow sponsors to attend the Confirmation classes with the Confirmation candidates (and possibly even encourage it or even require it!). Sometimes, they’ll have the Confirmation sponsors attend a 1-day retreat with the Confirmation candidates. Sometimes, they’'ll only have the sponsors and Confirmation candidates work on a survey questionnaire together. Other programs just care that the Confirmation sponsor shows up for the rehearsal and actual Confirmation.

You can ask to attend his CCD confirmation classes as part of your preparation. Sponsors are invited and encouraged to do so.

Thank you for the suggestion! The only reason I can’t do this is because I co-teach a CCD class myself. However, if the time is right, I might do so!
