I was talking to a protestant friend of mine this morning about birth control. I told her ABC is not allowed in the Catholic Church and in the Old Testament bible that contracepting is displeasing to God punishable by death. She said "not our bible which is only the New Testament. She said “Presbytarians to do not follow Jewish customs and laws of the Old Testament.”

Is this true?
 
Catholics do not follow the ceremonial laws of Judiasm either. But, that does not mean that all the laws of the OT are abrogated.

I suggest the book The Bible and Birth Control by Charles Provan. Provan is a Protestant.
