Is Lawrence Olivier still around? Nothing matches those guys – Olivier, Gielgud, and O’Toole.

Otherwise, Anthony Hopkins or Michael Caine.

Patrick Stewart is my #1 pick

#2 Sting
Sounds silly but he did a great reading of Peter and the Wolf. 🙂

I agree with Anthony Hopkins and Mel Gibson who were already mentioned. Some other good voices are Liam Neeson, Morgan Freeman, Alan Rickman, Alec Baldwin, and Sean Connery.

Robin Williams ?
Having seen some of Robin William’s stand-up routines, and movies where he is out of control…I am suspicious his reading would be Inspirational.

James Earl Jones is my first choice, and now that we know he has already done so…I’ll have to check it out. 😉

Second runner-up would be Jim Caviezel.

Maya Angelou and I agree with you all who said Anthony Hopkins. Also, I would love to hear Sam Elliot read (or is it Sam Shepherd?). Anyways, I’m talking about the Sam with the really deep voice.

And Johnny Cash or Waylon Jennings (he was great on The Dukes of Hazzard), if they were still living.

Ideally, you’d have different actors reading different books.

James Earl Jones would be great for Genesis, but for the Letters of Paul, how about Fran Drescher?

Bob Dylan reading all those long geneologies would work, and Christopher Walken could read Daniel (or perhaps the Song of Solomon).

Rush Limbaugh is perfect in every way for Deuteronomy, and Joey Lauren Adams could read Jonah.

I can’t decide who I would pick for Ezekiel.

I’d go for the guy who plays “chef” on South Park.

I think he’s actually a radio dj or talk show host.

I don’t watch that show but I think that person is Issac Hayes(the guy who sang SHAFT).

Neither Johnny Cash nor Waylon Jennings is still living. But one of Johnny’s last projects was to begin recording the Bible. The whole New Testament is available.

Sean Bean. I’ve thought he’d be wonderful ever since I saw the movie Troy. He narrated the opening of the movie. It gave me chills!
