I know people who are not in full communion and in a state of grace should not partake of the Eucharist, is there anything that forbids them from bring up the gifts to the alter?

Just curious. Thanks

I asked my pastor this question once when I was planning a Mass – could I ask a non-Catholic to bring up the gifts. His response was that it didn’t make sense to him for people to bring up the gifts who couldn’t later receive them. I thought that was reasonable.

On the other hand, when the ushers ask people to bring up the gifts at a Sunday Mass, I don’t think they quiz them beforehand about their status with the Church. I’m sure that non-Catholics are sometimes asked to participate.

It often happens when families are asked to bring up the gifts and one of the parents happens to not be Catholic.
