Are there different presidential prayers (collect, prayer after communion, etc) for each weekday or are they the same throughout the week? I can’t find an answer online and I don’t own a missal.

There’s an app for that:

Thanks for the suggestion! I found my answer on iBreviary. They are by week.

Yes, they’re by week, sort of…
The priest also has some other options for weekdays if there isn’t a obligatory memorial, feast, or solemnity celebrated that day, in which case there’s likely a proper set of prayers for that day.

Not exactly.

There used to be a rule that the weekday Masses for (what we now call) Ordinary Time used the prayers from the previous Sunday. That practice continues as a matter of custom, and that’s probably what you’ll find in a missal guide or iBreviary. But that rule no longer exists.

Now, the priest can actually use any of the Sunday of Ordinary Time Masses for the weekdays. They no longer have to match the previous Sunday. So he can use Sunday 16 during week 5, just for example.

Most priest (I venture to say) still do this. It’s rather convenient; and especially more convenient than constantly moving around in the Missal.

I actually do the opposite. If it’s the 3rd week of OT, I use the prayers for the 4th Sunday. It was a habit I started when the new corrected Missal was published. I found that by doing the prayers ahead of time during the week, I was better prepared for the new wording on Sunday. I still do it that way, because now it’s become a habit.
