Which do you prefer “Pride and Prejudice” (the book, or any movie version) or Disney’s “Tangled”?

i was dropped on my head. but my wife made me put pride and prejudice:o

Talk about apples and oranges!

I was dropped on my head, too, but my daughter made me put Tangled. 😛

I suppose guys can be exempt from the dropped on the head thing 😛

I don’t recall reading all of pride and prejudice… And vaguely remember the movie. I’m a sucker for a well animated movie. I LOvE animation so I have to go with tangled.

Someone want to animate p&p?😛

I loved both recent movies versions of Pride & Prejudice…and I loved them both. I did see Tangled and it was really good, but I have to vote for P & P

I picked “they are both too amazing to pick between” because they are really different. I watch/read them for completely different reasons. I like Pride and Prejudice in book form and the BBC’s 6 hour version. It is the complete package, drama, sarcastic/sardonic humor, love story etc. While Tangled is just a great modern disney story. It is has the love story, the humor, the scary parts, and the sweet parts, the songs… But it is essentially light fare (which it love it for). Sometimes you just need a light, fun story.

As much as I love Disney, Jane Austen as a writer is incomparable! 🙂 Plus, I really love the 2005 movie, Matthew Macfadyen will always be my Mr. Darcy.

My opinion, for what it’s worth:

Pride and Prejudice is a literary classic and masterpiece.

Tangled is a Disney fairy tale.

The two cannot be compared, it’s unfair.

As Disney fairy tales go, Tangled was excellent. But it’s no Pride and Prejudice, c’mon now! 🙂

I LOOOVE Tangled. The part that made it one of the most amazing beautiful movies was where. .

SPOILER ALERT (highlight to read)

Eugene sacrificed his own life so that Rapunzel could be free from Mother Gothel.

For obvious Christ-like reasons 😉 But P&P is great as well 🙂

For mine Colin Firth all the way - Mr McFadyen was a bit too, I don’t know, kinda soft? Not so arrogant and standoffish as I imagine Mr Darcy.

But I much preferred Keira Knightley as Lizzy. Looked and acted the part to a T.

This. Comparing the two is really rather silly.

That’s my favorite part too 🙂

My sentiments exactly.

👍
I agree entirely.

Pride and Prejudice. One of my favorite books, actually.

I’m not overly knowledgable of religion in England, but everyone in the book is Anglican, right? oooh, naughty me 😊

There’s precious little mention of religion in the book at all, so it is impoossible to say, except for Mr Collins being a (Protestant of some description, as he marries after ordination) pastor.

There were Catholics in England, just not a huge proportion of the population.

Why do you ask?
