One woman is in critical condition and another man is in fair condition today at Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield following a car crash Friday that killed a Wausau priest.
The Rev. Steve Gross, 65, who was the pastor at Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ, died after a vehicle he was traveling in collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Highway 10 East and Highway A in Marshfield on Friday.
Another occupant of the vehicle, Pauline Brehm, is in critical condition, while Peter Burek is in fair condition, a hospital spokeswoman said. Brehm leads the liturgical planning ministry at The Church of St. Anne in Wausau. Burek is the deacon at Resurrection. A fourth occupant of the vehicle, the Rev. Steve Brice, who is the pastor at St. Anne, was uninjured.
The four were returning home from Wausau following the funeral of retired Bishop John Joseph Paul, who died Sunday at age 87.
