PALO ALTO, Calif. (CNS) – To watch Capuchin Father James Stump at work is to see a Christ-centered “ministry of presence” in action as a daily routine.
That is a very inspirational story. It is so nice to see a person find fulfilling work in his/her life whether that be as a priest, a nun, a lay person working in a volunteer ministry, or a lay person working in a secular job that they find fulfilling. I am disabled so I don’t know what kind of work I could do but I do lead the rosary from time to time before Mass as I did today and I would like to be an extraordinary minister of the Eucharist but I don’t have the money to buy a pyx. I am not sure if one would be provided or what. That and I am very nervous about handling the Eucharist. I am afraid that I would somehow offend Jesus or drop Him or something.
