Just another symptom of “Newchurch”.
The penultimate purpose of the Christian Faith is the salvation of souls; it has its main aim as getting the faithful to the next world.
Since Vatican II, however, salvation has been replaced with “social justice”, and what happens in this world is more important than getting to the next one.
We will all end up in the next one, however, like it or not; I wonder what Christ’s reaction will be when He asks us if we spent our time in prayer and contemplation and instructing converts in the Faith…and we tell Him, “No—but we did make sure people in North America got a fair price for coffee and we picketed three days every week at Air Force missile silos to protest nuclear weapons.”
