Yes, and many here would probably not see anything wrong with all you described, including the Nixon mask. It’s part of the “American Church mentality of reletavism.” I’d rather be with the Roman Catholic Church.

As per it demonstrates what I have benn suspicious of, namely, that you don’t know what you are talking about because you have not done your homework. The issue of Gregorian Chant is that YES Benedict the XVI does want it to make a comeback (they are finally enforcing what the documents of Vatican II really said) and has recently said:Gregorian Chant must be re-discovered."

It is not in the GIRM nor in Redemptionis Sacramentum.

So this priest is not disobeying anyone.

But that does not mean it will come back to be the only thing in every Mass.

You go way to far. See, unlike you, I wait until the Church puts out a document saying something rather than assuming that they will.

As for your woodstock crack. Are you for real? You have some serious issues.

I guess you didn’t read what I was referring to. The question was referring to activities OUTSIDE MASS, not during Mass.

You’ve been lucky indeed. Every modern church in my area has the sacristy at the back of the church. Why, I couldn’t say when it makes it all the more inconvenient for the priest and necessitates him processing and recessing when it isn’t called for.

Our local parish church has the sacristy out through the vestibule and down a hallway. The priest usually ends up terminating the recession at the doors to the vestibule and just going straight to the entrance to greet people who are exiting.

It also makes it very awkward for those who need to move the communion vessels back to the sacristy through the exiting people after mass.

Then I ask you also. How is playing a musical instrument, especially one that has been pointed out to be Biblical, make a priest look “unpriestly”?

Again, it is not an abuse, and it is a matter of opinion and I do not think it is respectful to make such comments especially when this poster did not see it.

It is also important to not that most (if not all) of us who are saying that this is not an abuse have not given our opinion on the matter. We are only stateing the fact that this was not an abuse.
