If a priest wanted to found a new order of discalced Carmelite nuns, how would he go about doing so? Especially if he wanted them to be extremely Marian. Thank you and God bless!
Didn’t St. Vincent de Paul form the Daughters of Charity? Why would a priest want to found an order of nuns? Does that happen? I thought a woman always founds the female branches of orders.

First of all, the “Order of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Mount Carmel” is already Marian. In order to be part of the Discalced Carmelites, I would think you’d need to start by talking with the Provincial of the Order. If a priest wanted to found a new order of discalced Carmelite nuns, how would he go about doing so? Many women’s orders were founded by priests. Why would a priest want to found an order of nuns? Does that happen? I thought a woman always founds the female branches of orders.
