In contrast, a collar unambiguously identifies its wearer as a priest.

But even this is not true.

While a collar would certainly be an indication that someone is a religious leader, it does not necessarily indicate that the person is Catholic. If he is Catholic, it is not a guarantee that he is a priest.

Then there’s the restroom issue. I have known priests wearing the collar say that they’ve gone into a men’s room at a restaurant, seen a teenage boy there, and turn around and walk out. The risk is just too great. Maybe that’s a particular issue around here.

If your point is to suggest that priests do, or should, have a greater measure of conviction that a lay person, I agree.

If your point is to engage in a petty ad hominem attack thinly disguised as discourse, please disregard the fact that I’ve responded at all.
