Priest with severe back-pain

Our Assistant Parish Priest was taken by ambulance to hospital this morning. Last night he was unable to move or get help from the Prior or the visiting priest (our Parish Priest is away). Fr Jerome spends innumerable hours with ill, and with dying people, but now it is he who is in need of healing prayer and kindness. Please may I ask your prayers for our generous priest.

Dear Father, please ease the pain, and heal whatever injury is causing crippling pain in this Christ-like priest. I offer last his night’s distress and pain to You in union with Your Son’s suffering. Please flood Your blessings on Fr. Jerome and let this time make his spirit, even more holy, and deepen his relationship with You further.
If You will, give him healing so that He can return to his tireless ministry. Please comfort his brother priests who are distressed to see their cheerful brother in pain.

Thank You, Father, for the gift of Father Jerome and his brother priests. We are blessed beyond words to have them share and guide our lives, and to offer the Sacraments of Your Son’s Church to us

Thank you, Tarek, Mike, Jesu, Susan, Simon X, St Gabriel, 244Rocket, MarysGirls, ble,
allhers, and Suzanne, for your prayers for Fr Jerome. He will remain in hospital for several days, but was already booked on a two hour flight on Friday to join his family and others for their celebration of his 50 years of Priesthood.

He will make a valiant attempt to go, having already seen what a blessing it was to all of us when he had his parish celebration with us. He had tried to humbly avoid a big celebration, with Mass and a parish event afterwards, but the fact that his brother priests prevailed to change his mind, meant that all us of felt enormously blessed…and in learning more about him and his life form his brother priests and each other…well we still feel the awe and gratitude even some weeks later…and I’ve never seen a priest receive a spontaneous standing ovation afterwards from several hundred people in my life before…although they all deserve one.

He is accustomed to spend long hours and days at the bedside of sick and dying persons, so it affects us to think of him now in a hospital bed! Thank you for your prayers for this humble and generous priest. It’s only by hearing in the passing time of others’ stories of how much time and kindness he has give to numerous individual families, that one builds up a picture of his Christliness…but so are our other priests, thank God, each with his own hidden ministry beyond his dedication to his priestly apostolate.

I’m sure that the blessings that your prayers obtain for Father will be multiplied back to you in his prayers and future Masses.

Dear Father in Heaven, I pray that you free Father Jerome from his back pain and restrictions in mobility. Grant that he may recover extra quickly from this often complicated and debilitating condition as his congregations and fellow priests and those he especially ministers to miss him very much. In Christ’s name. Amen.

Dear Tarek, no change yet. Father is still in hospital, but I’m confident that Father will be back comforting the sick very soon. I think he will as long as he lives. Thank you all for your prayers. Father will remember you in his prayers.

Dear Lord I place him in Your loving care,
and all priests who are sick and in pain, or in any kind of difficulty.
