In my personal opinion, I wouldn’t think so. Sometimes I think the church isn’t ALWAYS right. I follow the teachings of Jesus, not what people from the church say to follow.
Just out of interest - who decides what Jesus says? Everyone of the Christian churches claims to follow what Jesus says and yet they disagree with each other. No Actress that line won’t wash - unless you have a personal direct line to Jesus that none of us know about.

True … but I am sure you know what I meant 😃

God doesn’t talk to you in some manner? I hope he does. 🙂

What is Pope-Phone?
Heh. Well, I always used to ask annoyingly specific questions in my RCIA class (being an engineer, I do that). So when the concept of the Pope came up and he was described as “the first among equals” I said “what the heck does that mean? how can you be first in a pool of equals”. We argued back and forth and she said something of the effect that he was most in touch with God. So I reply “what, does he have a direct line to God or something?” And she says “yeah, its called the Pope-Phone.”

So that’s about it.

Yes, but thats a joke right? The church doesn’t claim that the pope is “most in touch with God”. I hope that your teacher was kidding when she introduced the “pope phone”.

Of course she was. She just wanted to say something because she couldn’t answer my questions. Like when I asked how old we would be when our bodies were raised or how imaginary time worked into the Second Coming or why there is a Trinity and not a Fourity. She answered all those questions but the answers weren’t real answers because no one knows. But, as an engineer, I don’t like unanswered questions so I ponder crud like that. 😃

Yes, I see. It is better to say “I just dont know” then to say something silly. You are an engineer, I am a mathematician. So, I need proofs, which (of course) I cannot have in any religion (by definition). So, I “just don’t know” is my usual answer (because I can only understand very little of what is even out there).

Sounds like every other homily I’ve heard in Rochester (although they usually mention gays as well).
You preach homilies like that in our diocese you’ll be stoned to death! And rightly so.

The Supreme Pontiff is not in any case first among equals.
No more than is Jesus Christ.

I’m sorry, I don’t follow you…
