What kind of education do you need to become a priest? my biggest qustion is the math requirements. thats my weakest area…

I believe St Charles Seminary in Philly had one math class (algebra, IIRC). The majority of undergraduate work is philosophy, followed by languages. The graduate studies are theology.

In the diocese where I live, most of the newest priests are in their “2nd career”. Most of them already have a BS/BA and in some cases MBA/MSW or other advanced degrees.
The ones I know had to take 12 credit hours of Philosophy to enter seminary. As far as I recall, none of their seminary training included math, except maybe business-type math for a “parish management course”.
My best advise to you is to get in touch with the Office of Vocations in your diocese or with someone in the order you are thinking of joining. They can answer many of your questions and get you started in the discernment process.

If you don’t know how to get in touch with them- call your local parish or Cathedral.
There are people there who will help and support you, no matter what decision you end up making.
