I am looking for any photos of their liturgies or priests performing liturgical functions. Do you know of any? I couldn’t find any on their website.

Father Kovpak’s book was supposed to be translated into English, but I’ve heard nothing about it. I certainly want to read it when it’s available.

I’m not an expert on the UGCC, but FWIW, I believe that this society has been excommunicated by the Holy Synod of the UGCC.

The Transalpine Redemptorists had some photos on their website. However I don’t think that any showed the liturgy in action.

If they are actually of an eastern rite, one should be able to find photos of the liturgy of St. John Chrysostom/St. Basil elsewhere.

I believe they control on parish in Ukraine, with stations of the cross and a few other western practices which the neighborhood is very fond of, but as far as the liturgy is concerned the altar should look like an Orthodox altar and the host will be leavened, resting in the blood and administered with a golden spoon. They probably have an iconostasis too. If it is a big parish it might have a separate website.

Do you need the photos for a news article? You may wish to write them and ask for some.

I visited the site for SSJK. There are indeed pictures of their churches and activities.

However, it’s significant that their churches don’t have iconostasi.

An Iconostas is directly required by the Ordo Celebrationis issued in the 1950’s (or so) for Ukrainians and Ruthenians.

They also have statues, which are NOT traditional in any Byzantine tradition.

SSJK seems to be devoted to a hybridized (that’s the nice word) liturgical and spiritual praxis which is by no means traditional.

Interesting point. I had never looked into SSJK. This is signifigant to know and thank you for sharing.
