Firstly may God Bless you ‘chipper17’ and may you know His plan for you,if it is His will that you should serve him as a priest then I wish you all the best.
In response to ‘Pilgrimage’, The “fatherhood” of the Pope is the same as that of Abraham, St. Paul, and all Catholic Priests, it is biblical:
Yours in Christ
No, actually it’s not, you have but one Father and He is Christ. Also there is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
Paul made every effort to be to all people all he could be, but he could never be a woman or get into the hearts, minds and souls of women. Jesus could, and this is why Paul could not be your perfect example of Christ as Father, no matter how hard he tried, nor could the church fathers before him. All he could do was teach the philosophy behind the wisdom of Christ and imitate Jesus in humility. He did a very good job of doing so, but he was NOT Jesus, nor was he Peter.
You should remain faithful to the examples
Jesus gave you first and foremost and then be like Peter and build your church, because this is how Jesus did it. First He gave Peter the examples he was to follow, this included the elevation of women in front of Peter’s eyes; only then did He commission him with building of the church.
Firstly Peter had to learn about himself and how he could come to deny Jesus’ teachings in the face of the truth. The faces of truth at this point were 2 ‘women’ first and then a crowd, which is quite poignant in the face of the truth still today.
Be honest. It’s OK to say I enjoy worshiping this way it feels powerful, but don’t try to say that it should be to the exclusion of women because they have the wisdom to get down to The Lord’s feet and to wash and dry them with the most precious of all praises.
Jesus did not exclude women, He allowed them to be publicly intimate with them at a time when women were culturally suppressed. Had He wanted cultural suppression today He would have displayed it Himself.
The servant girl clearly knew who they both were, the girl at the gate clearly knew who Jesus was and also knew who Peter was too, and so did the crowd. If Peter is to imitate Christ fully, then he is to give women their rightful place in society.
In elevating women, women elevated Jesus to even greater heights. There was a lesson in that for Peter too, if Peter is to follow Him. There was more than just one Mary or woman in the Bible!
God bless
