Hi,
Recently, the DRE at the local parish was sharing with me that she was looking forward to her vacation trip back home because a friend of hers has completed training to be a priest, is ordained, and will be offering his first Mass. She said it was always special to be at a priest’s first Mass, but she didn’t elaborate, and I didn’t ask.
So now, I’m asking!! Knowing basically what the Mass is and what office the priest fulfills (in persona Christi), I can kind of understand why/how it could be a special time for him and the congregation. But can you please elaborate on that for me? Thanks.
Like, are there special benefits from having him bless a Rosary or something at the same service he offers his first Mass, and things like that?
