Prime without the Martyrology

I have started praying Prime according to the extraordinary form, just out of obedience to Pope Benedict’s motu proprio. I am not sure, when I omit the reading of the Martyrology, where do I continue the praying of Prime.

Do I continue with the verse: Pretiosa in conspectu Domini? Or from Deus in adiutorium meum intende?

Why do you omit it? That is one of my favorite parts of Prime.

But anyway, “Pretiosa in conspectu Domini” comes next as per Divinum Officium (1960 office).

I don’t think one would say one is doing this out of obedience. That would only make sense if one were required or *commanded *to pray it this way.

It is more appropriate to say this is an option you are exercising, a choice.
