Are we all invited? 🙂

I don’ t know how to post pictures, but I’ll post a prayer!

I pray that you take refuge in the Heart of Mary, and that she will bless all your trials, joys, sufferings, and prayers 100 fold, and present them to her Son in all their beauty! I beg her protection and intercession for you, your husband and your precious baby.

I’ll bring my world famous meat balls - as well as fresh fruit and dip.

Now I have to figure out how to crochet a virtual baby blanket…

Perhaps if everyone posted their favorite prayer, story or piece of advice related to parenting/motherhood, she could run them off and put together in an album as a “shower gift”?

Lovely Lady of La Leche, most loving mother of the Child Jesus, and my mother, listen to my humble prayer. Your motherly heart knows my every wish, my every need. To you only, His spotless Virgin Mother, has your Divine Son given to understand the sentiments which fill my soul. Yours was the sacred privilege of being the Mother of the Savior. Intercede with him now, my loving Mother, that, in accordance with His will, I may become the mother of other children of our heavenly Father. This I ask, O Lady of La Leche, in the Name of your Divine Son, My Lord and Redeemer. Amen.

I make a mean artichoke dip! I’ll bring it.

My motto for motherhood–I raised four kids–was this: When children are acting the most unloveable, that is when they need the most love.

The best toys: those that are creative–blocks, leggos, crayons, clay, dress-up clothes, anything that uses imagination.

The best way to get your kid to eat something: rename it. Broccoli was baby trees. Raisins were baby bunny poop. You get the idea.

The best day ever with your child: TODAY. Enjoy every one of them.

Things to do while nursing: read, READ, **read, **READ. I read the entire John Jakes America series while nursing my son Daniel.

Unimportant things: spilled milk, messy living rooms, grass stains on clothes, expensive toys.

Important things: nice warm baths with toys, being tucked in with a story and a hug and kiss, watching a bug cross the driveway, stopping your work to listen, cuddling while singing silly songs together.

I’ll bring the vegetable tray and a great homemade cheese ball with both regular crackers and wheat free nut crackers for those of us who can’t eat wheat!

Remember that today is the most important to your child.

Sing to that baby now and often. Talk to her, remember she loves to hear your voice now and if you were like me you spend a great deal of time alone with no one but baby in-utero to talk to.

Don’t worry if she doesn’t want to wear a pair of socks in her shoes, if she isn’t uncomfortable then what’s the difference? And if she wants to be independant and put her own shoes on backwards, let it go, if they are uncomfortable you can help her figure out why and show her how to fix it.

Take her to Mass with you when you are ready and comfortable with it. Sit up front when she starts to really pay attention so she can see what is going on, but sit at the end of a pew if possible so you can make a hasty exit if necessary.

May God grant you a safe and quick delivery! May Mary hold your hand while you labor.

Chocolate-Banana Heaven Cake (no, I’ve never made it…I suck at baking cakes from scratch, but this is a virtual party so I say it turned out even better than the picture and tastes incredible…enjoy!)

I don’t have any great parenting advice because I don’t yet have any experience. But this thread is a great idea and fun too so I really wanted to come to the party!!!

Your just like my children, opening others’ presents for them.😃 Thank you.
:o Whoops! Now you know why I wanted to host this shower!

How exciting a baby shower I don’t have to leave home to attend. Best parenting advice. Mmmm

Don’t ever say my child will never do that inevitably they will.

Start praying for them now.

Don’t rush all the fun steps in their lives (basically really enjoy them when they are young. I realized that to late and of course later could relive those moments and enjoy them with my grandchildren.)
Just remember little children little problems big children big problems.
Have fun and enjoy every moment of motherhood. The house work will always be there.
