I’m generally very much Not into any sort of princessy fantasy story gunk, Cinderella aside, but I thought “The Princess Bride” was reasonably entertaining. And who (of my generation at least ) wouldn’t want Peter Falk to read them a bedtime story? “Columbo” was my dad’s favorite TV show.

And the grandson was played by Fred Savage, who at that time was one of the most beloved child actors in the country.

When The Princess Bride was released to theaters in 1987, Robin Wright was still a regular on the daytime serial Santa Barbara. She played Kelly Capwell on that soap.

For those who still might go on Wednesday, just to let you know. For this presentation, there is an interview with the movie’s director, Rob Reiner, both before and after the main feature.

I have my tickets and my nice MLT ready. With the Mutton nice and lean, it’s so perky I love it!

Including me!! :older_woman:t3:
I love this movie, it came out my senior year of HS and we had so much fun with it.

We even dressed as the gang for Halloween one year.

I can’t believe it’s been 30 years!

Hope your birthday was enjoyable! Since we’re on a Catholic forum, what aspects of that film can you intertwine your faith journey? In what ways does Jesus have the same characteristics as that love story? I used to watch that film a lot, but now I prefer Son of God or The Nativity Story- but that’s just me.

Btw, have you attended more swing dancing events lately?? I remember you from the original Catholic Answers forums w/ swing club.

Anything with a happy ending MUST have the Lord in it! – But that’s just me…😃
