In The Letter to the Romans, Chapter 3 Verse 27 states:
Code:
What occasion is there then for boasting? It is ruled out. On what principle, that of works? No, rather on the principle of faith.

Is principle of faith the equivalent of law of faith?

The Douay Rheims translates the words as “law of faith”.

Romans 3:27 Where is then thy boasting? It is excluded. By what law? Of works? No: but by the law of faith.

The Greek word appears quite often in the N.T. and is almost always translated “law”. I think it is only in this verse that the RSV translates it as “principle”.
