Principles of Augustine on Literal Interpretation of Genesis

I am hoping and praying for a list of the principles that St. Augustine used for explaining the literal interpretation of Genesis.

I have read his 12 books on the Literal Interpretation of Genesis twice. Additionally, I have reread book one four times.

I am beginning to get a feel for his works on Genesis. His other works that deal with those chapters I have also studied.

I am hoping, however, for his principles to be compiled–might any of you people have such a list or know how to obtain one.

While this does not directly answer your question, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, Second Edition, ISBN: 1-57455-109-4 does give the Catholic teaching regarding interpretation of Scripture. The table of contents, index, and glossary will be a far better guide than I would be.

The official Catholic teaching regarding Adam and Eve is found in paragraphs 355-421 of the Catechism. One can also use this handy link www.scborromeo.org/ccc.htm

These two websites contain TV ads about Catholicism. The first is from one of the Dioceses which is using them. The second is general information.
