Hello All,
I have a Word document of an Akathist but would really like to make it a double sided booklet where I can fold all of the pages over and have a booklet. I have tried to make it for hours with no luck. Anyone really good with that stuff and could help? Then maybe we could post it here so everyone could use it. Here’s the Akathist:

Thanks for all your help!

You can do it word by changing the page layout to landscape and dividing the page into two columns. You should be able to print as a booklet from there.

BTW - you realize this is just the Canon for St. Patrick, and not a complete Akathist.

I thought canons were longer and had fewer responses? What’s missing? Do you know where I can find the whole thing?

Not much - just the introductory and concluding prayers. It did appear that you had all of the Odes of a complete Canon for Akathist Prayer. I gather you got this from an Orthodox source (not that there’s anything wrong with that), given the orientation of some of the language used. I know I’ve seen this before (in polished form) - just can’t remember the source.

Thanks! Do you mean like the usual beginning and ending, Trasagion and that kind of thing?
Thanks again,

Precisely. There is normally a customized prayer at the conclusion, reflecting on the theme of the Akathist (St. Patrick in this case, of course). I’ll see if I can dig something up for you.

Again, I mentioned it only because it seemed you were aiming to put together a service book for the Akathist as a stand alone service. FYI - one of my own particular Church’s resident experts PM’d me to point out that what you had was a complete and customary setting of an Akathist, which could also in this form be taken as an extension of other liturgical services. In that case, there would be no introductory or concluding prayers added.

Most Holy St. Patrick, pray for us!
