Private revelations?

I agree … I pay no mind private revelations personally, but I have had to endure many instances of priests, laymen and laywoman pushing various private revelations as if they have to be believed

The Church has had over 400 years to condemn this list of papal mottoes and has not done so. Pope Pius XII even selected his own motto, Pastor angelicus, to be the title of his 1942 autobiographical film.

Perhaps you are thinking of Catholic Answers apologists such as Tim Staples or Jimmy Akin who have posted their negative views. The Catholic Encyclopedia takes a neutral stance.

The real reason that Catholics and others don’t find the mottoes to be valid is that they are using the edited version of the mottoes* which would cast Pope Francis as “Petrus Romanus,” which is a name that does not fit him.

*FLORILEGIUM INSULAE SANCTORUM, Messingham, 1624
The Church said it is a forgery.
We will all be laughing and happy when the time comes to appoint the successor to Pope Francis.

How do we explain all the private revelations that haven’t come to pass? Are there official revelations the church does accept? I.e some people predict the end of the world and it didn’t happen. How do we know like the rosary and it’s promsies are true if the church won’t even validate the revelation?
The whole genuine purpose - the only purpose - of private revelations is to help facilitate personal conversion to Christ, based on the doctrine and practice found in public revelation. Likewise private devotions like the rosary lead people to living out more fully Public Worship - the Mass.

Thus, we don’t really know for sure how many of the genuine purposes and promises of private revelations and private devotions have come to pass, in the lives of individuals. But why would we want to know? We are responsible for one person’s conversion.

The Church has said no such thing.

However, I sincerely hope that you are right and that this terrible prophecy does not come to pass. Peace.
