Private revelations

If we recieve a revelation, and its teachings are in line with the Church after having been researched, do they need to be verified by anybody? Should I even bother a priest about them? I’ve had a number of little realisations during prayer which I would class as revelations, but I’m not entirely sure. Should I talk to a priest or just be glad for them?

Thanks for the fast responses both of you 🙂 If someone can elaborate that would be great though. For instance whats the difference between a revelation and you just realising the answer to your own questions?
