The Vatican – House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, one of the top pro-abortion Catholics in elected office in the United States, will meet with Pope Benedict XVI on Wednesday during a week-long trip to Italy. The meeting will likely occur after the pope’s weekly general audience.

Wow. I will pray for this:

God please use your humble servant Pope Benedict as a gateway to your love. I pray that Nancy Pelosi and all others that seem to be lost will be converted through the actions of the Pope and be transformed into the truth. I pray that she takes this truth and uses it for good in this world and in these troubling times. That she may see the truth and resist legislation supporting abortion, homosexual marriage, and other actions that are immoral. I ask this in Christ our Lord. Amen. :signofcross:

Versicle and Response
℣. Let us pray for our Pontiff Benedict.
℟. The Lord preserve him, and give him life, and make him to be blessed upon the earth, and deliver him not up to the will of his enemies.
Our Father, Hail Mary.
Code:
℣. Orémus pro Pontífice nostro Benedicto.
℟. Dóminus consérvet eum, et vivíficet eum, et beátum fáciat eum in terra, et non tradat eum in ánimam inimicórum eius.
Pater, Ave.
A Prayer
O God, the Shepherd and Ruler of all Thy faithful people, mercifully look upon Thy servant Benedict, whom Thou hast chosen as the chief Shepherd to preside over Thy Church; grant him, we beseech Thee, so to edify, both by word and example, those over whom he hath charge, that he may attain unto everlasting life, together with the flock committed unto him. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Deus ómnium fidélium pastor et rector, fámulum tuum Benedictum, quem pastórem Ecclésiæ tuæ præésse voluísti, propítius réspice: da ei, quǽsumus, verbo et exémplo, quibus præest, profícere; ut ad vitam, una cum grege sibi crédito, pervéniat sempitérnam. Per Christum Dóminum nostrum. Amen

A Prayer
Almighty and everlasting God, have mercy upon Thy servant Benedict, our Supreme Pontiff, and direct him, according to Thy loving-kindness, in the way of eternal salvation; that, of Thy gift, he may ever desire that which is pleasing unto Thee and may accomplish it with all his might. Through Christ our Lord. Amen

Omnípotens sempitérne Deus, miserére fámulo tuo Pontífici nostro Benedicto, et dírige eum secúndum tuam cleméntiam in viam salútis ætérnæ: ut, te donánte, tibi plácita cúpiat et tota virtúte perfíciat. Per Christum Dóminum nostrum. Amen

I pray that the Pope can convince her how wrong abortion is, and that she isn’t a true Catholic if she is Pro-Choice.

:signofcross:Dear Lord, please grant the Pope wisdom enough to convince Nancy Pelosi that her outlook on Abortion is very wrong, and that she may help influence President Obama on his positions as well, so that abortions may be outlawed for good. I ask this though Jesus’ Name, Amen.:signofcross:

Blessed Mother Mary, please intercede for us and ask God to help our Holy Father bring Nancy Pelosi back in communion with the Church and let her see through His eyes of love and mercy.

In my human frailty, I see this as a photo-op and publicity stunt for Pelosi, who doesn’t intend to change her views. And I’ll bet that she doesn’t, at least publically, or at least while in public office.

However, I too will pray for her conversion. Betcha lots of people never thought a guy named Saul would end up as the Lord’s greatest Evangelist…

Doesn’t her meeting the Pope give rise to scandal. The media will use it as a photo op to show she is in line with the church on many issues.

I hope the Pope changes his mind and instead lets her meet with Cardinal Burke.

(I’d be thrilled to have a meeting with a nun, priest, bishop or cardinal.)

The Pope is Christ’s vicar on Earth. What would Jesus do? Pope Benedict has been a powerful and consistent defender of the strength. He is strong and wise enough to know how to manage this meeting.

Would it be uncharitable of me to wish she comes out of the meeting with her very own excommunication?

Well, either that or change her stance on abortion.

She’s already excommunicated. She knows it and the Pope knows it. The only thing he could do to add to it is to state it publicly. For diplomatic reasons, and perhaps in hopes of saving her soul, he probably won’t.

But, while we may never know of it, I am sure he will make it clear to her where her soul is headed. I don’t know that she’ll care what he says. But I feel confident he will say it to her.
