Thanks estesbob. I am so tired of the “back alley abortion” myth - even the Dr. who testified for Roe in Roe v Wade said that the numbers were gravely inflated.

As a matter of fact, abortion clinics today have no regulation whatsoever and many are not sanitary at all. Would you get a major surgical procedure done in unsanitary conditions? That makes them no better than that back alley abortion so often talked about.

I will say that in my world the goal might not be achievable but it is a goal worth seeking! I stand by what I said that the goal is to eliminate abortions.

I don’t want to see women get abortions, they are not safe and damage more than their bodies! I have a friend who had one shortly after they were made legal, she is in her 50’s (she might be 60 now, don’t remember) but she is just now opening up about it and admitting that had she had known about a Crisis Pregnancy Center that baby would be alive today! She did go on to have three beautiful daughters with her second husband.

I agree!! **Here’s what I’m doing **to help stop untimely pregnancies.

Pro-life WI is dedicated to no exceptions for rape and incest and we support our local pregnancy ctr which has an excellent number of programs, though still small.

Our local chapter of PLW is going to make a concentrated effort at promoing chastity in a program we are giving this fall for Catholic jr high boys and girls. We figured to target Catholic kids first as we will probably get a smaller group and didn’t want to be overwhelmed with numbers. There are also a couple other churches who target teen girls. The Theology of the Body materials have come out just in time for us to incorporate it into the program, which for now, is just 4 hrs (starting off with lunch and music - hopefully door prizes will also be attractive).

Anyway, we figure that one has to make an effort to get to the root of the problem which is living a Godly life, and realizing what God’s plan is for you – it’s NOT to objectify another human being or to use your own body for recreation. It helps us realize what our **purpose **is in life, and that’s something teens really are interested in. Hopefully some will attend who haven’t heard this msg before.

Of course, there’s more to the TOB than that, but I am hoping this really catches on in our area, with everyone, parents, couples, teens, all ages!

What do you think can be done? What are you doing?

St. Maria Goretti, pray for us!

Are you insinuating my priest likely knows this already and allows people to keep on receving communion??
Please explain your comment, Amolibri.

Mimi
Perhaps your pastor could appoint you “gatekeeper”. I find this type of behavior extremely sad. Are you afraid of contagion? Do you look at the many people in line for communion, and wonder who is not worthy?..none of us is “worthy”. That is the prayer we pray before we receive.

Let us be concerned with our own interior life, Mimi. It does not affect me in the least who does and doesn’t receive communion.
May the Lord help us to open our hearts.

Actually it DOES.

Doesn’t scripture tell us that if we see someone sinning and fail to warn them, we will share in their punishment?

…that from someone who has a gun in their signature icon…
perhaps we warn them with a gunshot?

EXAMPLE is the strongest form of education.:gopray: Not searching whom to exclude from Communion.
That is what Christ teaches me. 🙂

we are to warn the** unrighteous of their ways and to repent – **Ezekiel 3:16-21

And what does that have to do with anything? Saint Gabriel Possenti used a GUN to save his village. His use of a GUN did not stop the Catholic Church from OFFICIALLY recognizing him as a SAINT.

Apparently, you would have held that against him. Shows that your views in this area do not line up with that of the Catholic church.

As someone pointed out in another thread, St. Gabriel’s gun use is not the reason for his sainthood.

Lighten up, will you, fella? I’m not attacking you.

Didn’t say that it was. Merely pointed out that his USE of a firearm did not disqualify him in the eyes of the Catholic Church from obtaining sainthood. Thus, a image of a firearm in my signature block should not be cause to dismiss my comments either especially when I offer biblical passages in SUPPORT of those comments.

Not attacking you either – merely clarifying things.
