Conception results in a one celled zygote, set on a course of development over a period of nine months. An embryologist would not refer to any stage of the process as a “clump of cells.” This is how we all began.

But, as I said, the cutoff point established by Roe and Doe at which we can no longer kill them is presently after 9 months–birth. Seems a little late to me. Not much different from infanticide. I’ve not heard any pro-choice lobbyist ask for an earlier cutoff point.

And as for the oft-cited cases of rape, incest, and life of the mother–if abortion were limited to only those possibilities, the abortion rate would immediately drop by 98%.
I’m not married not Roe. And I don’t oppose some restrction on abortions. But even if we got rid of 98% of abortions some here still would be satified. We have some crazies in our church that would rather woman die from complications than allow even very rare abortion.

You are an extremist just like them. I’m glad you have an outlet for your extremism and also glad nobody in our government will touch you. You are an embarassment. With all due respect.
Just a warning, Toomey. You would not be the first to come to the forums and post <50 posts and then get banned. It’s a shame that your posts have escalated in hysteria and you cannot converse in an educated and charitable tone.

Continue posting in this manner and my prediction will come to fruition.

You are right about arguing circumstances. What we need to be arguing are intentions. 😉
So your last ten posts were a waste of time. You don’t care if abortion saves women or not. Rather disingenious of you to pretend that you did for the last hour and a half.

Toomey, because you call yourself Catholic,
it would be easy to say that you’re an embarrassment.

Instead from one former clump of cells to another, I ask -
why was it your mother and father didn’t kill you before birth?
You were a little bitty meaningless clump of cells -
so why not just kill you? Any ideas?

Sorry to come here in challenge your extreme views on abortion. Does this site isolate you from discussing these matters with or without your approval.

I agree with you, PR.**

Couple palable ignorance with disrespect for the Church, toomey,
add a layer of ugly disrespect for other posters - and yep - you’ll be banned.

Who is it who’d enter the house of another to insult them?
To insult their faith? … and why would one do that?

Bored?

My mom wasn’t raped or facing death, genius.

This is catholic forums and I’m a card carrying eucharist eating member. This is my house too.

Yes but it is debatable that the presence of genetically distinct cells constitute a human being.
Only by a person that wants to deny both the revelation of God to the Church, and the findings of modern science. Such a person would be in a rather foolish position.
But your consistency leads to absurdity. Its kinda moot really. I’m sure that there wont be many people protesting with lil flower to end the few abortions that actually preserve life. Its just weird to interact with fanatics on both sides of the issue. You guys are no different than those partial birth abortion folks. Both of you are irrelevant.
One has to wonder what draws you to such a thread, believing that your fellow members on it are all “irrelevant”. It is also commonly understood that, when a person has been unable to win his arguement, he might lapse into devaluating and attacking his opposers (ad hominum) as a last resort.
What partial birth abortion folks?

Are you against partial birth abortions then? Why?

Do you think at 23 weeks 4/7 days it’s not a human beings but at, say 23 weeks 5/7 days it suddenly becomes “human”?

And when do you start calling it a child? :hmmm:
Maybe you missed it, but there was a post indicating that different standards should apply at different stages of development.
Like I said, you are obedient to the Church even if people have to die. I get it. You really don’t care whether or not abortion could save a woman. Its just hypocrtical to trumpet how pro-life you are.
I care enough to know that abortion never saves a life. It always hurts a woman, physically, spiritually, emotionally, and psychologically. Abortion is a grave moral evil, and no good fruit can come from a bad tree.

Seeking medical treatment for a complicated pregnancy does not include abortion, which is not a form of treatment.

Toomey,

Are you kidding? What is debatable about DNA? It is proven scientific fact that the DNA of a baby in the womb or out of the womb is unique…it is neither the mothers or the fathers but a combination of both. Also biology 101 ended the debate a long time ago about when life begins…it begins at the moment of conception.

I have a couple of other life questions for you; beside being an abortion advocae do you:

support euthanasia?
mercy killing?
assisted suicide?
capital punishment?
forced sterilization?
quality of life tests for new borns? (If they don’t pass they are eliminated).
killing the mentally disabled?
harvesting organs from euthanized people as is being done in Belgium?
embryonic stem cell research?
in-vetro fertilization?

Are there any areas where you defend life?

God Bless,

Iowa Mike

Still here, I thought you wrapped up quite nicely with “i oppose abortion b/c the pope says so regardless if women could die”.

Uh-huh. So read the rules, observe them and
you can stay in your house. Otherwise … ya’ know?

Of course, reverence for the Holy Eucharist is necessary.
“card carrying eucharist eating member” falls very short of reverence.

Apparently I’m the only one who would defend a woman’s life if a pregnancy would kill her.

We are all very impressed by the reverence of your holier than thou approach.

23% of all pregnancies end in abortion. 4,000 children killed each and every day in the US. Millions killed each year. Hm…That’s a lot of women raped and facing death in our country, Toomey.

And would you mind replying to this post? Thanks.
