You won’t find this story on CNN, MSNBC or other American news outlets.

Do note the ‘man’ is wearing a pentagram necklace.

They do occasionally, but certainly not regularly or in depth. Since Canada is part of the British Commonwealth, it’s not that surprising that the British tabloids might run the story.

However, comparing the Daily Mail to CNN or even MSNBC is not particularly accurate. The National Enquirer is a closer match.

You can be sure that if this were the other way around, and a pro-life campaigner roundhouse kicked a pro-choice hair stylist, it would make front page news on every liberal English speaking rag around the world!!!

I’m confused. I am viewing the US home page for the Daily Mail. How is it you figure they have more interest in showing Canadian stories to a US audience?

The second tab at the top of CNN is World News. Canada is part of the world and a close part of the world to the US. We have special trade agreements with them. You used to be able to cross the border with ease.

Why is the Daily Mail like the Enquirer? The news buzz section on CNN has plenty of fluff pieces. But nothing on an assault of a peaceful protestor? Also, three of nine of its articles are about things outside the US. I guess surfing in Brazil is more important that political violence to CNN fans?

The link you provided is a dot uk website. The Daily Mail is well known in the UK as the kind of publication that is frequently called “a rag.”

I’m not sure why any of this matters. It’s a nasty story, but it’s hardly something of international note. Women are physically attacked in n a regular basis and their stories don’t make the news—nor are their attackers always punished. Heck, sometimes we name them to the Supreme Court.

Kicking someone just because you disagree with their views isn’t nice. I don’t care who or where it is.

And CNN is called fake news. But why are you saying it is like the Enquirer? You made the claim so you need to substantiate it. Just citing common opinion is meaningless. The National Enquirer is known for featuring stories about aliens which, as far as I know, the Daily Mail has not.

I think the story is noteworthy because it is part of increasing political violence in the west.

Regarding the supreme court that is your opinion which is based on denied allegations. This is a video of a person attacking someone. This is pretty hard to deny.

Regarding this being noteworthy, much as the SC being my opinion, this is simply yours.

And what authority is this website you linked? Regardless all it is claiming is bias. Are you saying that stories of assaults on peaceful protesters is something media with a left bias won’t cover?

The choice of what to cover and what to hide is key to journalistic bias. The media tries to shape opinion by emphasizing what will advance its goals. This is just human nature. The lie is when the media pretends to not be biased. Any media so claiming should be disbelieved.

Depends on the jurisdiction. In some assault is the threat to harm someone. Battery is the actual harming of someone. In this case where I live the woman was battered. So we have a battered woman from the pro abortion side.

Well, I haven’t seen it on CBC either. They’re too busy talking about Kavanaugh. If the person was pro-choice or a visible minority it would probably be big news even if it was an accident.

No. If you read it, it also analyzes fact-checking. The Daily Mail doesn’t fare well.

I think we all agree this was reprehensible. But whether it was singular enough to warrant international coverage is debatable.

Sure. It would be a good debate. On the CNN side you’d have the argument that a Dutch Christmas character is more important than a woman just north of the border being kicked for protesting abortion.
