Let’s start a list of actions that people can take to fight legal child killing, aka abortion. Feel free to comment and share your experience of pro-life activism.

-pray, pray, pray
-learn what the Catholic Church teaches in the Catechism, read encyclical letters on the subject
-keep yourself informed about anything related to abortion: legislation, types of procedures, statistics, possible physical and mental consequences…
-find out what particular laws apply in your state
-educate others with all that you have learned
-get involved in your Parish’s Respect Life Ministry
-volunteer in a crisis pregnancy center (CPC)
-support financially/donate gently used or new items to CPC
-find out more about Project Rachel and Rachel’s Vineyard Retreat and advertise them around you
-write a letter to the editor to oppose a pro-abortion article/event/law or in favor of a pro-life one
-find out how many abortion mills are in your area, how many abortion they perform a week, how many people work there so you know how to pray about this
-go pray by an abortion mill
-get involved in side walk counseling
-if you had an abortion and have found peace, speak up about your experience

I would like to add:
-put a Pro-life bumper sticker on your car
-wear Pro-life T-shirts in public places

  • Build an informative website.
  • If you belong to a community site where pro-life organizations are also members, you can befriend them & post on their pages, in support.
  • Attend the annual March for Life, Walk for Life or similar events. ~
    March for Life (East coast) Washington, D.C. January 21 & 22, 2010

Walk for Life (West coast) San Francisco, Calif. January 23, 2010

While you’re there… take photos, make videos. Share them. If you (like me) are geekily-inclined chuckles, maybe blog or “Twitter” about the experience. If you’re into arts & crafts, you can make a scrapbook. Share it with your family & friends. Artistic? Create! Perhaps you’ll do a collage, painting, sketch… or even write a song.

Always, always confront those who claim one can be pro-choice and still be in accordance with Catholic Teaching. Always, alwasy confront those who claim that it is ok for catholicss to vote for canidates who support abortion on demand.

Volunteer at you local CPC
Contribute to your local CPC
Work for the elction of pro-life canidates

I have done all of the above. i counseled for 5 years at a local CPC not only talking to abortion minded women but working with men who had their child aborted and working with the parents of minors who were pregnant.

Thanks BriarRose and Estesbob. I love the creative ideas and yes we do have to minister to our brothers and sisters who reject Church teaching on legal child killing. It reminds me of a Bible verse that a friend has sent me today:

From St. Paul’s letter to the Ephesians (6:10-13)
“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we are not contending against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”

Let us remember that Pro-life is not merely about abortion, but also about the elderly and the sick, the most vulnerable people’s right to live from conception to natural death.

Anti-abortion activism is probably the most visible aspect of Pro-life because the practice of abortion was made legal in the 70s and there are visible facilities and professionals dedicated to the business of the killing of human children.

Sadly, some countries such as Switzerland have passed a legislation, provide facilities and train professionals to do the business of killing the sick and the elderly as well.

Let us keep on praying and fighting the fight for Life. Let us hope that we don’t see such a day in the US when we have to be genetically perfect, wanted by our families, healthy and young to be granted the right to live.

Please continue to post your ideas about Pro-life activism. God Bless you all.

I would like to point out a project a friend and I are working on. We are calling it The Great Prayer Project - End Abortion. Our goal is starting March 25, 2010 to have one continuous year covered in prayer (24/7 x 365). We encourage any who wants to sign up for a 20 minute slot to pray to end abortion to visit our website. (Sign up will begin Jan 1, 2010).

Sorry if this sounds like spam, I am just trying to get the word out about our project. I figure a Catholic forum would be a great place to help find like minded individuals. (Both Roger and I are Catholic and are pro-life supports).

Dexter - that sounds like a great idea! You should probably send a press release out to a couple of newspapers. If you want to chat more about this idea, PM me! I’ve done some promoting for other volunteer efforts.

This sounds great! Thanks Dexter, I will join and advertise it in our community.

I’ve had this sign made recently, to hold or to put in the ground by the local abortion mill. I pray it will help our sisters see that they don’t have to participate in murder to earn a living.

All of these are great ideas. If you’re a single Catholic male, check out the website on my signature. This may be a way of life for you too. Christ may be calling you to leave everything to follow the Gospel of Life.

If you’re female there are the Sistes of Life (no connection with the Franciscan Brothers of Life). Their site is www.sistersoflife.org

Hi Bea!! I just got my pro-life bumper sticker and as soon as it stops raining it is going on my car. Several weeks ago I was at the gas station and while my car was filling I was just goofing around, talking to my dog, etc. and I looked up and there it was in a strip mall across the street - a new Planned Parenthood Clinic. I started crying. I was stunned. Here it is in my own little town. It’s a blight and it sickens me. I guess the best I can do right now is to put that bumper sticker on my car and then park in the parking lot and maybe just cry and pray.

My parish has a group of people that have gone out and prayed the rosary in front of the clinic. I was afraid to go - isn’t that dumb? Here I want to be all brave and fight for the rights of the unborn and my fear of getting arrested stopped me from doing what I should have done. If the chance comes up again I hope I will be able to have enough courage to do what I should do. If I get arrested, so what? I’m disabled and can’t work so it’s not like I have to worry about losing my job.

I’ve found that it is much easier for me to debate the subject of abortion than to go out and actually protest it. 🤷

Hi. I clicked on the link for the Sister of Life website. There is supposed to be an area to sign up for their newsletter but it didn’t work. I didn’t find an email address for the group. I’m a bit confused as to what to do now.

In Oregon (my state) we have physician-assisted suicide. I believe Oregon is the only state which has this. I’m not sure how this law got passed but there must have been voter approval somewhere in the process. I’ve been lax in voting so I feel a bit responsible. People need to know that voting is very important. I do, now. And of course I will do everything I can to get this law overturned.
