Here in Missouri I’ve seen a billboard along one of the highways that has a picture of an unborn baby, along with a message saying something about not letting abortion “give you cancer.” Is the Catholic Church responsible for these billboards or is some other organization?
After some concern that abortion (both spontaneous and deliberate) might cause a woman to develop cancer, it was determined a few years ago that abortion doesn’t cause breast cancer or any other form of cancer, after all.

It seems that this billboard’s message is simply a scare tactic used in an effort to frighten women into not having abortions which IMO, does more harm than good. Putting false information out to the public helps no one and may result in women faced with unwanted pregnancies to distrust those who really want to help them and their unborn child.
I certainly hope that the CC isn’t in any way responsible for the wording on this billboard, as I love my faith and I trust my Church to be honest.
