Hi everyone!
I haven’t posted here for a while. Thanks to everyone who contributed to the Catholic Call to Arms thread on Scientology’s coerced abortions.
That was about a year ago. More and more people are finding out about the abuse of women and coerced abortion. Lawsuits for coerced abortions at Scientology’s Gold Base international headquarters between Hemet and San Jacinto, CA have been filed by Claire Headley and Laura DeCrescenzo.
I have written extensively on this issue at For Great Justice.
Tomorrow, I will be speaking about Scientology’s human rights abuses on a wonderful show called The Things That Matter Most on two radio stations in Houston and Dallas/Ft. Worth.
It is hosted by two thoughtful Evangelicals, Lael Arrington and Rick Davis.
They contacted the Anonymous forum Why We Protest where I have posted extensively in the last year and asked for someone to speak on their show about Scientology.
The Reverend Cathy Norman of the Church of Scientology in Austin sent an email to them when she found out about it.
She is a member of Scientology’s secret service agency OSA (The Office of Special Affairs) that is in charge of interfaith relations and character assassination of its critics, along with legal, financial, and other external relations.
First, she recited standard OSA smears against Anonymous as a cyber-terrorist anti-religious hate group, and then smeared me for promoting their cause.
And all this before she has heard one word of the show.
It is really not surprising. It is standard practice for OSA. It is called dead-agenting.
First they condemn everyone in Anonymous as a criminals and then associate me with it to make me a criminal so no one will believe what I have to say about Scientology’s human rights abuses.
To put the lie to those contentions, one need look no further than the fact that Anonymous was recognized by the German Government for publicizing Scientology’s harms and that a Cardinal of the Catholic Church, Marc Ouellet of Canada, [defended their right to free speech](Cardinal Ouellet’s rumored move to the Vatican and Catholic Church - Scientology relations).
I am more convinced than ever that if Catholics publicize the coerced abortions are start asking, “What are you doing to put an end to them?” of our religious and political leaders we could end them in a year.
The policy was instituted by one man, Scientology supreme leader David Miscavige. He can change it tomorrow. It will take a lot of education of Catholics and the pro-life movement but it can be done.
There are fifty abortions a year going on at Gold Base. I think it would be effective if Catholics and pro-lifers in the area would hold prayer vigils at the gates of Gold Base to pray for the conversion of David Miscavige, and healing for the abused mothers and their unborn children.
The interview is being broadcast today, Sunday, May 17, at 9:00 am CST from conservative KVCERadio stations in Houston and Dallas/Ft. Worth.
You can listen online tomorrow. The show will then be archived.
The stations are co-owned by Republican Texas State District 7 Senator Dan Patrick.
